The West Perry basketball team is off to a slow start this season. It seems like they are still floating on their AAA District Championship last year. With only three games in the book, they have 2 wins and the only loss to an easy team, Milton Hershey, on Wednesday the 13th. What set the tone in the start of the game was West Perry giving up an easy lay up in the first 20 seconds. The final score with 33 to 38 was a tough break for West Perry. The team claims they went over the videos from the Milton Hershey game, and plan to win with the Camp Hill game being held tonight, the 16th. West Perry says that none of their goals for this year are not unreachable, since not losing one game was their goal. The Junior Varsity team, undefeated and with their new Coach, Jesse Urich (the varsity coach, Mike Urich’s son) so far has had a great start to the season, even winning the Milton Hershey game. The team has many advantages such as height along with a strong offense. Since it is the start of the season, the coach says they have a lot of work to do, an anonymous JV player says, “Our team is very good, we are well put together, but we have a lot of team bonding to work on. I just don’t think some players really mesh with others.” Stay tuned for the scores, stats, the most improving players, and the MVP’s of the team, all right here!
