Varsity football’s second game was away at East Penn on September 5th, 2014.
West Perry starts off with the ball, Chris Lahmen, #12, starting off the game strong by getting a touchdown in the 1st quarter. The extra point was no good, the game settled at 0-6 with WP in the lead. The game starts out on the Mustang’s side, defense players Jake Owens, Cameron May, Talen Thebes, and Josh Comp playing hard. Kurtis Fry, now back from surgery, cheered on his team from the sidelines.
At the end of the first quarter, East Penn pulled ahead, getting a touchdown with a good extra point kick. With two more touchdowns from East Penn in the second quarter, the score came to 21-6 by half time. After the half time show by West Perry, East Penn tried at a touchdown but were rejected because of a personal foul. In the middle of the third quarter, though, they came back and got a touchdown with the extra point in tow.
Talen Thebes, #23, helped West Perry by getting a touchdown in the bottom of the third quarter, but with no extra point. That made the score 28-12, but after a failed touchdown by East Penn, they came back and got a touchdown at the bottom of the third with a good extra point kick.
The final score was 34-12, West Perry Mustangs lost against East Penn.
