On September 12, 2014, West Perry and Greencastle went head to head at the Varsity purple out home game. Purple out is in honor of pancreatic cancer and for Hall of Fame inductee Megan Seiber. Balloons were set free during half time by her family in memory of her.
During the game, Greencastle started with the ball, quickly getting a touchdown in the first quarter with a good extra point. Soon after, #12, Chris Lahmen, got a touchdown and a good extra kick for West Perry. #12 of the opposing team got a touchdown, also, in the first quarter with a good extra kick in tow. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 7-14.
Two touchdowns by Greencastle in the beginning of the 2nd quarter with one valid extra kick made the score 7-27. Stone Caldwell, #72 of West Perry, down during the 2nd quarter for a neck injury. After the Hall of Fame inductions and balloon release during half time, Greencastle continued on their winning streak with three touchdowns in the 3rd quarter with only one valid extra point. The score was 7-46 when Hunter Wilson, #24, scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter with no extra kick point. With West Perry pulled up to 13 points, it wasn’t enough when Greencastle scored their final touchdown in the 4th quarter with a good extra point.
West Perry Varsity lost against Greencastle with a score of 13-53.
