Chuck-a-Duck 2015
by Hannah Vislocky
The 7th Annual Chuck-a-Duck basketball game against Susquenita will be held on January 7, with the boys varsity team playing at 6:00, and the girls varsity team playing at 7:30. This year’s game will be played to raise money for the ALS clinic and research center at Hershey Medical Center.
Those attending the games are asked to wear blue and red to show their support for the cause.
Similar to the past games, at intermission of the second game, all patrons who purchased rubber-ducks during the sale chuck the ducks at a target that is placed in the middle of the gym.
If the goal of $2000 is met, West Perry High School principal Christopher Rahn will participate in a modified ice-bucket challenge: he will sit in an ice bath and have a bucket of ice water poured over his head.
NHS members spent time selling Chuck-a-Duck merchandise during lunches and sporting events leading up to the game, and will also be selling ducks and merchandise during the Chuck-a-Duck game on January 7th. Merchandise for the game includes T-shirts and long-sleeved shirts emblazoned with original artwork; T-shirts are being sold for $10, and long-sleeved shirts are $13.
Show your support for our basketball teams by coming out for a night full of fun and help raise money for a local ALS clinic!
