Varsity Football - September 26, 2014

On September 26, 2014, West Perry Varsity football players had their fifth game. The game was home against Middletown, the bleachers filled with avid fans to cheer them on.
To start off the game, West Perry did kick off. Middletown got a touchdown during the beginning of the first quarter, Mustang defense blocking the extra point with ease. With a score of 0-6, West Perry began a back and forth game by getting a touchdown in the first quarter by #83 Jake Owens- the extra point was good! Numbers 82 and 15 tackled down the opposing team’s effort and a hold penalty against Middletown flew before Middletown got a touchdown mid-1st quarter. Again, the extra point was deflected, the score moving from 7-6 to 7-12. After a face mask penalty against West Perry, Middletown got yet another touchdown with no success in getting the extra point.
During a lull in action during the game, #83 Jake Owens ran the ball to get a West Perry first down and #15 Cameron May received and ran the ball. There was a Middletown touchdown at the bottom of the 3rd quarter, the team finally succeeding in getting an extra point. With the opposing team at 7-25, defense tried their best to get the ball into their hands. #23, Talen Thebes, was benched for a personal foul on the field. Soon after, Middletown got a touchdown in the 4th quarter with a valid extra point. #24 Hunter Wilson ran the ball, but to no avail when Middletown achieved a touchdown and good extra point kick at the bottom of the fourth quarter.
In the end, the West Perry Mustangs lost against Middletown with a score of 7-39.
